Curettage and deep pocket cleaning with laser

Gingivitis and periodontitis are among the most spread endemic diseases today. The most certain sign of gingivitis is the swollen, oedemic gingiva which is sensitive to touching and tend to bleed after brushing your teeth.

Have your gingiva treated by laser!

Gingivitis without adequate professional care, can easily turn into periodontitis, which is a serious threat to the health of your teeth, hence you can lose some of it, or bleeding can become persistent. It can cause halitosis, or other further inflammatory diseases not only in your mouth, but also in your whole body.

To prevent or treat gingivitis and periodontits, the most efficient and patient-friendly dental treatment method is the deep pocket cleaning and curettage with laser light.

The aim of the laser treatment is to completely remove the bacteria causing inflammation, and the inflamed, or even necrotizing tissue as well. It is also a desirable feature to desinfect the inflamed, necrotizing tissue, and to ensure the best, fastest and most permanent healing as much as possible.

With this method, we can prevent periodontits, or stop the progression of the evolved disease.

During the laser pocket cleaning, the laser light transports concentrated and manageable energies to the tissue where it is absorbed, causing the perishing of the inflammatory bacteria.

Researches can prove that the curettage with laser is much more efficient and productive in the elimination of gingivitis and periodontitis.

Using the Biolase Waterlase iPlus, the treated inflamed area is less likely to bleed or swell, so the treatment is much patient-friendly and easier to proceed. The pain that accompanies the treatment is much bearable, and the healing process is faster. The dental laser, due to its adstringent effect is a widely-spread, popular instrument used at surgical interventions as well.

„Those patients who suffer from one or more of the periodontal diseases know how unpleasant can be the conservative treatments of the gingiva. On the one hand, they come more willingly, and on the other, it is easier for us to keep an eye on the condition of their gingiva.”

The timing is very important, the deep pocket cleaning and curettage with laser is practical to happen as soon as possible after noticeing. Stonewalling can harm your teeth, gingiva and the whole body. If we does not take action in time, instead of the pain-free, short and effective treatment we can face serious consequences, and well-progressed periodontits that can be treated by time-consuming attempts that are not as much effectives as possible.

Periodontitis can be inherited:

If the disease is evolved, the laser treatment is also a useful tool to turn back the progression of it, because the regular check-ups and treatments and high-leveled oral hygiene can help making the periodontitis asymptomatic.

The level of discomfort decrease, the gingiva becomes healthier, the smile becomes much more beautiful, and our teeth can be in a well-protected, bacteria-free environment.

In order to keep your teeth healthy it is important to clean them properly. The deposited plaque and tartar (calculus) provide perfect condition for certain bacterias which can cause periodontal disease and gingivitis. To avoid these conditions, the adequate cleaning of your teeth and regular  professional scale and polish are required.

Our dental hygienists can help you in these tasks!

Our dental hygienits are the cooperative and important part of our dental team. They provide professional assistance to our dentists as well as carry out dental hygiene treatments on their own.

The tasks of our dental hygienists are:

  • to assess the state of your gums and teeth during check ups and to recommend treatment options for you.
  • to carry out the regular six monthly sale and polish on your teeth, that is very important in fighting against gingivitis and periodontitis.
  • to teach useful tips, advices, and methods to children, adults and the eldery in order to support them in improving their brushing and cleaning techniques.
  • to carry out aser and LED light tooth whitening treatments and support patients’ home bleaching by professional advices.

Learning the correct cleaning techniques, using the right toothbrush, flossing, using interdental brushes and javing regular professional cleaning preserv the health of our teeth and can prevent other disease such as nodules and heart disease.

Selection of our dental hygienists’ advices

Brushing with electric toothbrush

Brush for 2-4 minutes with electric brush twice a day every day.

Hold the electric brush towards the teeth gently and let the brush clean them, don’t brush too hard. Gently massage the gums as well. Move the brush around the teeth by following the gum line. Don’t miss any surfaces of the tooth, brush the palate/lingual and chewing sides as well. Don’t push the brush too hard, let it work on its own.

Electric toothbrush recommended by our surgery: Philips Sonicare

Brushing with manual toothbrush

The adequate time of brushing is 4-6 minutes twice a day every day. Hold the toothbrush gently, massage the teeth rather than scrubbing them.

Labial surface (the surface towards the lip):

Cyclic cleaning: Technique that can be used on the labial surface (the surface towards the lip) of the teeth. It is important to massage the gums as well as the teeth so you can definitely get rid of debris.

The inside surface (towards the tongue on lower teeth and towards the palate on upper ones)

„Sweeping” movement: The cleaning technique of the inside surface of teeth. Place the brush on the margin of the gums of molar teeth and sweep the debris from the gums towards the teeth. With this technique you can avoid gum receeding which is caused by scrubbing the teeth from the left to the right. The inside surface of incisors and canines should be brushed with a vertical movement. In this case we clean the teeth from the gum margin towards the edge of the teeth.

The chewing surface:

Clean the chewing surfaces of molar teeth with a cyclic and scrubbing movement (scrubbing is only allowed on the chewing surface, however there is no need to put too much pressure on it).

Free tooth surfaces (the surface that does not meet any other teeth):

We musn’t foret about the back surface of our last teeth either. The teeth next to gaps also have free surfaces as they don’t have a neighbouring tooth.

Scaling, tartar (calculus) removal:

Gingivitis caused by tartar and plaque is very common. Hower initially it does not seem to be serious it can also lead to the loss of our teeth. You can preven bigger problems by having regular scaling and having gingivitis treated. In order to avoid tartar build up the best thing to do is to have regular, profesional scaling.

Tartar is formed of debris remained on the teeth sometimes in short sometimes in long time. Tartar has to be removed as it provides adequate environment for bacterias that can cause gum bleeding and periodontitis. We can prevent our teeth becoming loose or losing healthy teeth that are not decayed buta re periodontally involved (mening that there is no structure that can hold them).

By having regular scaling we can avoid discolouration (caused by tartar), and bad breath as well.

Our laser treatments do not involve the removal of previous fillings and anaesthetic injection is also required in some cases. The different advantages of laser dental treatments are experianced in different extents in different stages of the treatment. Our aim is to provide treatments without any pain in a calm environment.

We are looking forward to see you at our surgery!

Pregnancy is a very important part of women’s life. This period is also important in a dental point of view.

During pregnancy we need to be more cautious and avoid pain, radiation as well as drugs. This way we can protect mum and the baby too.

Most of our dentists are women who are mothers as well, therefore they are the best to ask if you have questions related to dental care during pregnancy. They can tell you what is allowed and what is not, what treatments can be done and what do we need to avoid.

Our maternity treatment pack has also been created in consideration with their ideas and experiences.

Which areas need more attention during pregnancy?

The gums

the inflammation, sensitivity and bleeding of the gums are the signs of gingivitis that needs to be treated on time in order to avoid more serious gum problems.

During pregnancy gingivitis has to be treated as soon as possible and we need to be more cautious. Inflammations in the mouth affect the whole body as well as the baby, therefore we need to treat them faster than in other cases.

If you do not pay attention to the health of your gums, than it can lead to more serious problems and pain that will stop you eating. This condition is dangerous because if the mother does not eat the baby cannot get the important nutrients and will not be able to develop.

Examine your teeth every time you brush. If you notice any redness, swelling, bleeding or sensitivity than it is advised to see our dental hygienist team for a professional clean. In most cases a scale and polish solves early gum problems.

The periodontal environment

Gingivitis is very common during pregnancy due to hormon changes. If you have never noticed gum inflammation or bleeding before pregnancy than it can certainly be related to hormons and a simple scale and polish can solve the problem.

If you have experienced the signs of gingivitis before than it is very important to pay attention to this area more during pregnancy. Gingivitis can lead to periodontal disease in long term and can cause the loss of your teeth, bad breath or pain.

Gingivitis and periodontal disease can be prevented by regular periodontal examinations and laser treatments by the latest Biolase laser treatments.

Ask for our laser dental treatments to prevent gum disease, because the latest laser technology can help you in having healthy, beautiful and pink gums and a beautiful smile.

Teeth and deacy

During pregnancy the weakening of teeth is common due to the diet and morning sickness therefore pregnant women are more prone to decay. Teeth can decay faster and can be deeper even if the oral hygiene is good.

Decay works its way down to the root canal and already starts to cause pain at the dentine layer. Therefore it is very important to treat it as soon as possible before it gets deeper.

It is not only the visible surface of the tooth that we need to examine. The areas between teeth are also important and in a high risk of decay as they are hard to clean. This is why it is recommended to attend regular check ups as your dentist can check the interdental areas as well and remove decay if needed. For the removal of decay we use the  latest laser techonology that is painless, therefore there is no need for injection or drill.

95% of our maternety patients choose laser decay removal as the treatment is painless, there is no need for anaesthetics or drill. Avoiding the injection can prevent post operative numbness, therefor patients can carry on with their everyday activities straight after the treatment.

Ask for the help of our colleagues in questions related to laser dental treatments. We are happy to answer your questios.

Our laser treatments do not involve the removal of previous fillings and anaesthetic injection is also required in some cases. The different advantages of laser dental treatments are experianced in different extents in different stages of the treatment. Our aim is to provide treatments without any pain in a calm environment.

Without any radiation

ATTENTION!
Due to the possible teratogenic  effects of radiation it is probihited to have normal x-rays taken during pregnancy.

Please take this advice and do not let radiation harm your baby’s body.

Our dentists only ask pregnant patients to have normal x-rays done if urgent treatment is needed. At our clinic we use digital low radiation x-rays in 99% of cases.

Alongside with the low energy special x-ray machine (that focuses on the problematic tooth only) we also use extra precaution by giving led apron to our patients. Digitaly taken x-rays are displayed on the screen as soon as the picture was taken. After the assessment of the x-ray we can strat the treatment of the problematic area straight away.

You and your little ones are in good and caring hands at our clinic. During treatments we always pay attention to the mother’s as well as the baby’s health avoiding possible risks.

We are looking forward to see you at our clinic!

Why is it important to be familiar with the state of our teeth?

Teeth are also part of our body system. Each tooth is equivalent with an organ and they are in a close connection. Teeth and organs communicate and let each other know if there is a problem.

Once we assessed the state of our teeth we can start the application of a healing method that prevents toothache, detects nodules and relieves pain with the techniques of  laser dentistry.

Aesthetic and laser dentistry aims to save teeth with homeopathic  methods and materials while improving the state of our organs according to the healing holistic approach.

A fogérzékenység okai és kezelése

A fogérzékenység a magyar lakosság mintegy felét érintő mindennapi probléma.

A lézerfogászat egyre divatosabb fogalom, egy teljesen új világ, mely olyan lehetőségeket kínál a fogászati kezelések elvégzésére, melybe sokáig belegondolni sem mertünk.
